Sepia-toned photo of the starting clock and judges stand when it was located at the foot of Burns Avenue on the Detroit River. At that time this was the starting and finish line for the hydroplane races. The photo was probably taken during a race as there are numerous officials on the judges stand and one official holding a checkered flag at the left of the picture. The verso is marked "from the collection of J. Gerald Gunn.
