Black and white head-and-shoulders portrait photograph of Janet Ives Duncan, a descendent of Eliza S. Leggett. A handwritten letter from Duncan to Henry D. Brown of the Detroit Historical Commission was previously stapled to the photo. The letter read:

Dear Mr. Brown,
In reply to you letter I am enclosing a glossy of myself should you care to use it. I am sorry that I cannot send the [?] picture for which you asked. My family live in Northern Wisconsin.
Also your correct information, I have two sons:
Donald F. Duncan Jr.
John Ives Duncan
Don is married, and his baby daughter, Janna, is the sixth geneation.
