Print, Photographic

Mounted sepia-toned photographic print of the drinking fountain on the northwest end of the lawn of the Belle Isle Conservatory. The fountain consists of a semicircular back, supporting a relief of a sea serpent coiled around a trident, the mouth of which contains the spout. This water flows into a large stone basin below. The conservatory stands in the background, and several park-goers are visible on its lawn. "Brownstone from quarries in Northern Michigan was exhibited at World's Fair and presented to the city through the Park & Boulevards Commission," is handwritten on the verso.
