Black and white photo taken of the demolition of the old Skating Pavilion on Belle Isle, with its replacement, the Flynn Pavilion in the foreground on the right. The upper level and parts of the roof of the building have been removed, and bare beams are exposed. Construction vehicles and workers are amid piles of dirt in front of the building. "Department of Parks and Recreation, 3rd Floor Griswold Building, 1214 Griswold Street, Detroit 26, Mich. May 17 1950," is stamped on the verso. Holes have been punched along the top of the photo for a three-ring binder.
