One black and white photograph of Rev. Richard Ingalls of Mariners' Church, Detroit, who is blessing a model of the bulk carrier steamship, Edmund Fitzgerald, of the Columbia Transportation Division of the Oglebay Norton Corporation. The photograph shows the model in the lower left foreground. Rev. Ingalls is standing beside the model and is wearing a white clerical vestment. He is making a blessing with his right hand while holding a prayer book in his left hand. The church altar is visible in the right background. The model was made by professional model maker, Raymond J. Kaiser.

Typewritten text on the verso reads "Detroit Free Press - 05 Nov 79, Section A, Page 3. Remembering A Tragedy - When the Rev. Richard Ingalls, rector of the Old Mariners' Church on E. Jefferson in downtown Detroit, heard news of the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald the morning after the freighter went down in Lake Superior on Nov. 10, 1975, he tolled the church bells 29 times - once for each member of the crew. That tragedy was remembered in the church once again Sunday, November 4, 1979, when Father Ingalls blessed a model of the Fitzgerald built by Raymond J. Kaiser and donated to the church by Mr. and Mrs Terry Cross of Grosse Pointe."
