Print. Black and white photographic print of a window display promoting the August Sale of Bedding at The J.L. Hudson Company Department Store. Centrally displayed in the window is a large quilt created to honor the Detroit Tigers 1934 American League Championship. Each baseball on the quilt features the signatures of the players, and lists the rankings of the other baseball teams around the perimeter within the American League. Signage in the left-central foreground reads, "It took 430 hours to make this TIGER PENNANT BASE BALL QUILT, Designed and Made by Mr. Stuart Ansell, 14344 Freeland Ave., Detroit. In it are 32 yards of materials, 12 yards of binding, 46 stems of embroidery floss, and 2800 yards of colored threads, The J.L. Hudson Company." Blankets are draped, and folded throughout the display, signage in the right-central foreground reads, "In the August Sale of Bedding, All Wool Single Blankets, $7.95, Third Floor, Farmer, The J.L. Hudson Co." The photographic sequence number and photographer's name are printed on the bottom of the recto, "17227; Davis B. Hillmer."
