One black and white photograph of construction work that is underway for the new Civic Center redevelopment project in downtown Detroit. The view shows a steam boiler and engine (manufactured by Murray Iron Works Company of Burlington, Iowa) that has been lowered by a crane onto a wooden platform beside the recently-relocated Mariners' Church. Three construction workers are standing next to the boiler and are assisting in its set-up. Buildings at the Detroit-Windsor tunnel entrance can be seen in the left background. The Veterans Memorial Building can be seen in the center background.
