One black and white photograph (and one copy) of construction work that is underway for the new Civic Center redevelopment project in downtown Detroit. The view looks westward and shows a large area of excavation in the lower foreground. Concrete wall formwork for a new underground parking garage is visible at the far end of the excavated area. Also visible are construction cranes, trucks, workmen, stacks of steel rebar, and piles of debris. Various office/commercial buildings are visible in the background including the Norton Hotel (center) and the Guardian Building (far right).
