One black and white photograph (and one copy) of construction work that is underway for the new Civic Center redevelopment project in downtown Detroit. The view looks eastward and shows a new underground parking garage that is under construction. Concrete walls, steel rebar, workmen, and construction equipment can be seen in the foreground. The east end of the new City-County Building (now the Coleman A. Young Municipal Center) is visible in the left background. Office/commercial buildings at the intersection of Jefferson Avenue and Randolph Street can be seen in the left center background. The A. Krolik Building can be seen in the center right background, and the recently-relocated Mariners' Church can be seen at the far right side of the photo.
