One black and white photograph showing Merritt-Chapman & Scott Corporation staff who are on their way to Point La Barbe near St. Ignace, Michigan, to begin preparatory work for the Lakehead Pipeline crossing of the Straits of Mackinac. The photo shows a "City Cab" parked on a snow-covered road with a truck parked behind it. Two men are standing at the edge of the road in the left foreground. Evergreen trees are visible in the background. Handwritten pencil text on the verso reads "379-18, ML-3801, Access road at Pt. La Barbe; [Joseph] Troxell, Rock." An adjacent black ink date stamp shows "Feb. 16, 1953."
