One black and white photograph showing Merritt-Chapman & Scott Corporation staff who are on their way to Point La Barbe near St. Ignace, Michigan, to begin preparatory work for the Lakehead Pipeline crossing of the Straits of Mackinac. The photo shows a snow plow clearing a road with three men standing behind the cab on the plow. Large snowbanks can be seen in the foreground and evergreen trees are visible in the background. Handwritten pencil text on the verso reads "379-11, ML-3801, Plowing out access road at Pt. La Barbe." An adjacent black ink date stamp shows "Feb. 16, 1953."
