One black and white photograph showing Merritt-Chapman & Scott Corporation staff who are on their way to Point La Barbe near St. Ignace, Michigan, to begin preparatory work for the Lakehead Pipeline crossing of the Straits of Mackinac. The photo shows a snow plow that is parked on a snow-covered road. One man is standing on the back of the plow, one is standing beside the vehicle, another is shoveling near by a rear tire, and two others are walking in a snow bank. Large evergreen trees are visible in the background. Handwritten pencil text on the verso reads "379-5, ML-3801, Plowing out road at Pt. La Barbe." An adjacent black ink date stamp shows "Feb. 16, 1953."
