One black and white photograph of a pipeline wrapping machine. A group of workmen are standing nearby as rolls of a tar paper-like fabric are being rotated around the pipeline as it passes through the machine. A square label on the lower side of the machine reads "CRC, Built by Crutcher-Rolfs-Cummings, Inc.; Houston, Texas; Tulsa, Oklahoma." A black ink stamp on the verso shows the date, "Jul. 7, 1953." The pipelines were being prepared for placement across the Straits of Mackinac as part of the Lakehead Pipeline project that was being managed by the Merritt-Chapman & Scott Corporation.
