The photo shows a group of visitors who are standing on a dock and ready to observe the construction operations. A rip rap shoreline is visible at the left side of the photo. The roof of a "Control Tower" building with a film crew can be seen in the right background. Black ink stamps on the verso read "Merritt-Chapman & Scott Corp. Photo," and "Sep. 17, 1953." The staging area was located west of St. Ignace, Michigan, at Pointe La Barbe.
