One black and white photograph of the Merritt-Chapman & Scott Corporation construction staging area for the Lakehead Pipeline crossing of the Straits of Mackinac. The photo shows a group of visitors and workmen who are standing beside the end of the pipeline which has been brought ashore after crossing the Straits. A float is attached to the top of the pipe that has an image of the company flag logo (a galloping horse) painted on the side. Lake Michigan is visible in the background. Black ink stamps on the verso read "Merritt-Chapman & Scott Corp. Photo" and "Sep. 20, 1953."
