One black and white photograph of the Merritt-Chapman & Scott Corporation construction staging area for the Lakehead Pipeline crossing of the Straits of Mackinac. The photo shows four long sections of steel pipeline that are resting on cradles in preparation for pulling into Lake Michigan. Two workmen are standing beside the pipes and a "Control Tower" building can be seen at the center of the photo. Several dredges and crane barges can be seen on Lake Michigan in the far background. A black ink stamps on the verso reada "Weber Assoc., Inc., 51 Selden Street, Detroit 1, Mich. TEmple 3-7600."
