The photo shows a starboard side bow view of the dredge which is performing dredging work at a freighter dock. Docks are visible in the foreground and background. Coal piles and steel furnaces can be seen in the far background at the right side of the photo. A typewritten label along the lower edge reads "Bethlehem Steel Co. - Lackawanna, New York, 1953, Ore and Steel Handling Facilities."
