The photo shows an onshore crane hook and cable which are being used to lift a section of the telephone cable toward the shoreline. A Dunbar & Sullivan Dredging Company barge with a crane and cable reel are visible near the edge of the shoreline in the left center area of the photo. The Detroit River and Grosse Ile shoreline can be seen in the right background.
