Black and white photo taken from City Hall overlooking Detroit Street Railways streetcar number 3970 hitched to a Timken streetcar truck and the old Detroit Citizens Street Railway car number 73 from the horse-drawn era, on display at the mouth of Fort Street following a parade by the cars to promote Timken's trucks on January 8, 1931. 3970, a new Peter Witt-style car outfitted with the trucks is draped with a banner that reads, "The Last Word in Street Cars. Detroit Made It 'Quiet.'" A canopy is above the truck, with a sign that reads, "Worm Driven Streetcar Truck. A New Industry for Detroit." People inspect the cars and the truck. A baby carriage is hung from the platform on car 73. The First National Building stands in the background at the upper left, and Woodward Avenue extends beside it. "Forward car-car Chene Line. Bought from a cobbler-used as a cobbler's shop. Now in Greenfield Village #73," is handwritten on the verso.
