One black and white photograph (and one 11" x 14" black and white copy) showing a display of student artwork at Children's House, an art center for children in Detroit. The art display is part of the first annual art exhibition in May, 1937. The artwork includes shields, helmets, costumes, paintings, and a decorated panel. Stamped text on the verso of the original states, "Children's House Detroit, Michigan." Handwritten text in blue pen on the verso of the original states, "Part of first annual Exhibition - Spring 1937. Decorated panel by 11 yr. old girl. Costumes - 9-12 yrs. Shields - 8-12 yrs. Paintings - 10-12 yrs." Handwritten pencil text on the verso of the copy states, "1st annual exhibition May 1937. (6 months after Children's House opened in Sept, 1936. Some children walked all the way from Hamtramack (about an hour walk)."
