One black and white photograph of a students at Children's House, an art center for children in Detroit. The photograph shows three children working on block printing projects. The boy in the foreground is facing the camera, with his head down. Behind him are another boy a girl, both facing to the left with their heads down. The pieces that they are creating are being carved out of potatoes. Handwritten pencil text on the verso reads, "Cutting designs in potatoes for block prints. Mother believed children should be able to create from whatever they could find around the house. She didn't allow the children to take their work home because she wanted them to produce on their own, but, she would always give them materials. Many started classes in their own homes."
