One sepia-toned photograph of two tugboats, BARKHAMSTEAD and JESSE JAMES, of the Pringle Barge Line Company. The photo shows a port side bow view of the two tugboats which are moored side by side near a river bank. A thin layer of ice is visible on the water surface in the foreground and a small amount of smoke is coming from the smokestack on each vessel. It appears that the tugs may be getting ready for winter lay-up since solid covers have been placed over all of the windows on the bridge of the BARKHAMSTEAD. Shorelines are visible in the left and right background.
