One nighttime black and white photograph of a crowd of spectators in Grand Circus Park in downtown Detroit. The spectators, young and old, are all dressed in winter clothing and are generally looking slightly upward - possibly for a Christmas tree lighting event. One boy is standing beside the chair on the Hazen S. Pingree monument and two others are lying beneath it. Several tree branches are visible in the foreground and downtown buildings can be seen in the far background. A blue ink stamp on the verso has text that reads "By Detroit News Staff Photographer, Hostetler; Braynar, Reporter; Finished by ted." Handwritten blue ink text reads "Crowds watched at G. Circus Park as well as TV, 1960."
