Print. Sepia-toned photographic print of a window display featuring fabrics sold at The J.L. Hudson Company Department Store. Differing colors of satin crepe fabric are draped over large easels, and tables; bolts of the fabric are also visible. Small signage in the central foreground reads, "Our 45th Anniversary; 40-inch Satin Crepe; $13.35 yrd; Third Floor." Also, a large framed poster featuring a line drawing of an early street scene is visible in the background, it reads, "First Hospital in Michigan. This is St. Vincent's Hospital, a log house that stood on the southwest corner of Larned and Randolph Streets. It was opened for the treatment of the sick by four sisters of Charity, on June 9, 1845, and was instrumental in the prevention of the unnatural ravages of many of the dreaded diseases of that period. A series of twenty bronze tablets is being erected to mark sites of historical interest in Detroit as part of the celebration of Hudson's 45th Anniversary." The photographic sequence number is printed on the bottom of the recto, "10006."
