Print. Black and white photographic print of the Self-Made Chic exhibition held in the auditorium at The J.L. Hudson Company Department Store. A central display features female mannequins dressed in the latest fashions created from, "Fabrics of the Future, Man-made fabrics of great strength and durability," each mannequin features signage at the feed describing the fabric and pattern. Differing companies are featured throughout the perimeter of the auditorium and feature their fabrics, patterns and accessories including rayon. The photographic sequence number, and photographer's name are printed on the bottom of the recto, "18575-x; Davis B. Hillmer." Also, stamped on the verso, "Davis B. Hillmer, Photographer, 448 West Ferry Avenue, Detroit."
