One black and white photograph of a group of U.S. Army soldiers who are seated or standing on a lawn area beside the statue of Hazen S. Pingree in Grand Circus Park. The solders were stationed in the city during the 1943 Race Riot. Handwritten pencil text on the verso reads "Race Riot in Detroit, World War II."
