Print. (2 Copies.) Black and white photographic print of the Self-Made Chic exhibition held in the auditorium of The J.L. Hudson Company Department Store. The central display features a series of female mannequins dressed in the latest fashions, signage on the left side of the mannequin in the left foreground reads, "Fabric Fashion Fair, Styles for You by Detroit Dressmakers, You Can Read These Dressmakers Directly By Telephone or Through Hudson's Advisory Center, Third Floor." Also, signage is visible at the foot of each mannequin describing the pattern and maker, the signage on the right of the mannequin in the left foreground reads, "Self-Made Chic, Vogue S-4364, National Navy and All-Over Lace, $1.50 / yard, Made by Mrs. W.L. Reaume, Tyler 5-1930." Also, visible in the exhibition are the differing companies and departments including Hudson's Sewing Center, Hudson's Style Counselor, and Hand-Loomed Fabrics feature their available products are around the perimeter of the auditorium. The photographic sequence number, and photographer's name are printed on the bottom of the recto, "18575-2x; Davis B. Hillmer." Also, stamped on the verso, "Davis B. Hillmer, Photographer, 448 West Ferry Avenue, Detroit."
