Print. Black and white photographic print of the Self-Made Chic exhibition held in the auditorium at The J.L. Hudson Company Department Store. Two female mannequins are featured, flanking the left and right sides of a display which features sizing patterns. The patterns affixed to the rear of the display feature the pattern in muslin, how one should grade the pattern, and the master pattern. An image in the bottom left background features a woman sizing another woman. The two mannequins are dressed in patterns from McCalls. Signage on the right side on the display reads, "Fabric Fashion Fair, Proportionate Measurement, Sizing Patterns… As Explained by Miss Landers of McCall Pattern Company, Presented by the Pattern Department, Third Floor, Bridge." The photographic sequence number and photographer's name are printed on the bottom of the recto, "18575-5x; Davis B. Hillmer." Also, stamped on the verso, "Davis B. Hillmer, Photographer, 448 West Ferry Avenue, Detroit."
