The view looks northeastward from the east side of Woodward Avenue and shows shoppers who are standing or walking on a gravel area was part of the Kern Block (site of the former Kern's department store). Various vendor tables, umbrellas, and merchandise can be seen in the foreground and background. The Gratiot Avenue side of Hudson's Department store is visible in the far background. Handwritten blue ink text on the verso reads "D-D-Days."
