The photo shows a starboard side view of the vessel which is underway in fair weather on the upper Detroit River near Windmill Point. The decks are crowded with passengers. The water intake and Whittier Hotel are faintly visible in the far background at the left edge of the photo. A sailboat and mansion can be seen along the Grosse Pointe shoreline at the right edge of the photo.
