The persons are identified as follows (left to right): unidentified attendant, Walter Flavin, Elynore Lynch Flavin, L.G. Bidwell (trainer), Jerry Lynch, Evalyn Lynch, three unidentified African American attendants (one mounted on a horse), In A Spin (race horse #5), and L.C. Cook (jockey). Fencing and trees can be seen in the background. The photo is held in a white cardboard frame that has narrow black and silver lines near the inner edge. Handwritten pen text on the frame reads "Aug. 13, H.P. [Hazel Park] 51" and "The Lois" as well as "In A Spin; L.C. Cook, Up; R.G.Bedwell - Tr'nr [Trainer]; Jerry Lynch, Inc., Owner," and "6-1-2 FR, T [Time] 1 - 18.2." A white paper label in the upper right corner has black typewritten text that identifies most of the people in the photo.
