Mounted black and white photographic print of a group portrait of Mayor John C. Lodge with his former co-workers from the Detroit Free Press, taken on the steps of City Hall. Lodge stands near the middle of the group, on the second step. The outlines and jackets of some of the men have been retouched, as have parts of City Hall's columns. A handwritten note on the verso reads "Shows Mayor John C. Lodge + former / city men, reporters, etc. of the Free Press / taken the day Mr. Lodge was installed / Mayor. They had all been on the Free Press / when Lodge was City Editor. / C. 1929."
