The view (facing southeast) shows wooden benches in the foreground with a decorative vaulted ceiling and chandeliers overhead. Many stacks of boxes can be seen along the floor in the background. The photo is held in a white matte board frame. The photographer has signed the matte frame at the lower edge of the photo in handwritten pencil text that reads "Michigan Central Railroad Terminal - Main Lobby, 1973," and "R. W. Cleveland, '73." Handwritten pencil text on the verso reads "[Penn Central Terminal] Michigan Central Railroad Terminal; R. W. Cleveland / Archivally processed April 18, 1973."
