One black and white framed photograph (and one unframed copy) that shows an image of old and new style mailboxes in the Michigan Central Railroad station in Detroit. On the left, the view shows an old wall-mounted, decorative brass mailbox which collects mail through a front slot and also through an overhead chute that collects mail from the upper floors in the building. On the right, a floor-mounted blue steel box collects mail through a pull-down door at the top. A small fire alarm fixture with an attached strike hammer can be seen on the marble wall near the center left edge of the image.
