The elevated view looks southward from the YMCA Building, located at the northeast corner of East Adams and Witherell Streets, and shows a tree-lined Madison Avenue running left and right near the lower edge of the photo. Just beyond, commercial/office buildings can be seen on both sides of Broadway Street near the center of the photo. Many other commercial/office buildings can be seen in a light haze in the far background. Handwritten pencil text on the verso reads "From window of YMCA Bldg., Detroit, Mich., 1919."
