Print. Black and white photographic print of a window display featuring Necchi and Elna Sewing Machines sold at The J.L. Hudson Company Department Store. Two different types of sewing machines are featured as well as tables for their use and storage. A fabric constitution is affixed to and draped in the background. Signage in the left foreground reads, "You won't believe your eyes! Sewing's as easy as 1-2-3! On the amazing, new NECCHI or ELNA Supermatic Sewing Machines, Truly - you'll sew like a professional in minutes! Sewing Machines, 10th Floor, Gratiot, Section D." Smaller signage reads, "Sewed by Ann Necchi of the Necchi-Elna Sewing Machine Sales Corporation New York, New York, In process since last January this work of art is approximately half finished and now containing over 4,000 words. When completed, it will be presented to President Eisenhower and will hang in the Library of Congress, Washington, D.C." The photographic sequence number, company name, and photographer's name are printed on the bottom of the recto, "25735-x; The J.L. Hudson Company; Photography by Davis B. Hillmer."
