Black and white photo of a Dorothy Chipman, clad in a solid-colored dress, at work disbudding carnations within a Stahelin Nurseries Incorporated greenhouse, presumably at 18501 Grand River Avenue. She stands in an aisle between boxes of flowers, and looks toward the camera with her arms resting on the matrix of string and cable which divide the space of the box. "Dorothy Chipman disbudding carnations," is handwritten on the verso.
