Print. Black and white photographic print of a window display featuring men's wear available at The J.L. Hudson Company Department Store. Men's suiting, including dress shirts, patterned ties, and vests are displayed on mannequin busts; a pair of trousers is featured in front of the bust on the left and neighbors a fedora. The far left side of the display features a plaid over coat, and a pair of wing-tip shoes. Also featured on the right side of the display are men's accessories which include a second pair of shoes, patterned neckties, cufflinks, and a smoking pipe. Small signage behind the cufflinks reads, "for his Navy Suit, Small Neat Designs in fine woven silk, $3.50." Signage and fabric swatches are affixed to the rear of the display and reads, "Compound Colors with the Nubby Touch." Also, signage in the central foreground reads, "Compound Colors with the Nubby Touch, take your cue from the annual Autumn colorama, wear the clothes you've wanted to wear for years! Men's Store, 2nd Floor, Woodward… Section E." The photographic sequence number, company name, and photographer's name are printed on the bottom of the recto, "25743-x; The J.L. Hudson Company; Photography by Davis B. Hillmer." The date is hand-written on the verso, "Oct. 1953."
