Print. (2 Copies.) Black and white photographic print of a window display featuring ladies daytime fashions available at The J.L. Hudson Company Department Store. Two female mannequins stand in the display, dressed in shirtwaist dresses, with belted cinched and pleated waists, notched collars, and front button closures. The ladies dresses feature black and white checked-pattern detailing adorns each of the ladies dresses. A large, four-panel partition is featured in the rear of the display and signage is affixed to it and reads, "Hudson's and Vogue advocate The Black and White Idea For Spring Through Summer, Freer, Bolder, Cleaner, Clearer, Something new to think about, Green Room in the Woodward Shops, 7th Floor, Section E." Ladies accessories are not only featured on the mannequins, but featured in a display on the left side of the window, and feature ladies hats, gloves, handbags, and footwear. Signage amongst the accessories reads, "The Black and White Idea in Accessories, Whites You Might Add to Black, Blacks You Might Add to White, or Black and White, Accessories, First and 7th Floors." The date, photographic sequence number, company name, and photographer's name are printed on the bottom of the recto, "4-17-50; 24027-x; The J.L. Hudson Company; Photography by Davis B. Hillmer."
