Visible through the front window are three ladies seated behind desks and appear to be taking and maintaining registries. Wedding gift suggestions are displayed behind the ladies in the department, and include a candelabrum, china, service ware, lamps, and other assorted housewares. The company name and the photographer's name are printed on the bottom of the recto, "The J.L. Hudson Company; Photography by Davis B. Hillmer." The date is hand-written on the verso, "July 1949."
