Print. Black and white photographic print of a window display which features bottles of ladies perfumes as well as replica gowns of the First Ladies at The J.L. Hudson Company Department Store. Displayed in the foreground of the window are many differing size bottles of Evyan's 'Great Lady' perfume, which are featured atop a banquet chair and into the front of the window. Signage draped across the chair and onto the floor reads, "One Hundred Years of Great Lady Fashions, replicas of 'First Lady' gown inspired by Evyan's 'Great Lady' perfume, Hudson's Aisles of Beauty, First Floor." Accompanying the ladies perfumes are replica dresses of the first ladies, from left to right, Edith Kermit Roosevelt, Ida Saxton McKinley, and Caroline Scott Harrison. Signage at the foot of the Roosevelt dress reads, "Great Ladies of American, Edit Kermit Roosevelt, the graceful lines and silk damask were befitting the dignity of a First Lady." Signage at the foot of the McKinley dress reads, "Great Ladies of America, Ida Saxton McKinley, an elegant example of fin de siècle fashion worn for the President's inaugural ball." Lastly, signage in front of the Harrison dress reads, "Great Ladies of America, Caroline Scott Harrison, this magnificent silk ball gown in a variety of weaves, is a beautiful example of late nineteenth century elegance." The date, photographic sequence number, company name and the photographer's name are printed on the bottom of the recto, "10-13-60; 28106-3x; The J.L. Hudson Company; Photography by Davis B. Hillmer." Stamped on the verso is the photographer's location, "Davis B. Hillmer Photographer, 8825 Second Ave., Detroit 2, Michigan."
