Print. Black and white photographic print of a window display which features ladies perfumes available at The J.L. Hudson Company Department Store. A framed Salvador Dali painting entitled, "Oasis," is featured at the center of the display. Signage beneath the painting reads, "OASIS, one of a series of oil paintings by Salvador Dali inspired by the Western desert to interpret Desert Flower perfume. The artists interprets this painting as 'The Invisible Lovers at the approach to the Oasis." Apollo and Venus materialize in the empty space. By grace of the desert flower, they rise into view from the aridity of the rocks." Bottles of Desert Flower perfume and lotion are displayed in the right corner foreground. Signage in the central foreground reads, "Desert Flower by Shulton, Hudson's Aisles of Beauty, 1st Floor." The photographic sequence number, company name, and the photographer's name are printed on the bottom of the recto, "28620-x; The J.L. Hudson Company; Photography by Davis B. Hillmer." Stamped on the verso is the photographer's location and telephone number, "Davis B. Hillmer Commercial Photography, 8825 Second Ave., Detroit 2, Michigan, TR 5-7620; TR 2-8000."
