Print. Black and white photographic print of a window display which features ladies hosiery and footwear available at The J.L. Hudson Company Department Store. Differing styles of ladies footwear are featured on tiered displays and include styles for sports, spectator sports, street, afternoon and evening wears. Accompanying the ladies footwear are differing colors of ladies hosiery. Signage affixed to the rear of the display reads, 'Fashion Says, dress for the Occasion." Two smaller signs are visible in the left and right foreground of the window. The sign on the left reads, "It Takes These Five Types of Shoes, To Make a Modern Woman's Shoe Wardrobe, Active Sports, Spectator Sports, General Daytime, Afternoon Wear, Formal Evening, Better Shoes… Seventh Floor, Farmer." Also the sign in the right foreground reads, "Your Hose Should Match Your Shoes, IN Type as Well as Color, Seventh Floor, Farmer." The photographic sequence number, the photographer's name and geographic location are printed on the bottom of the recto, "13319; Photography by Davis B. Hillmer; Detroit."
