Print. Black and white photographic print of an interior view of the Basement Store located inside The J.L. Hudson Company Department Store. The staircase leads downward toward the Misses Department which features ladies dresses, housecoats and pajamas available for purchase. Displays on the staircase landing and at the foot of the stairs feature female mannequins wearing a shirtwaist dress and a housecoat. The displays are ornamented with Christmas decorations. The perimeter of the staircase is also decorated for the holidays. The date, photographic sequence number, store name, company name, and the photographer's name are printed on the bottom of the recto, "12-7-54; 26013-5x; Basement Store; The J.L.
