The photo shows an elevated view which looks westward across Woodward and shows four multi-story commercial/office buildings that have decorative brick/stone facades. The business names are as follows (left to right): Kline's Garment Company, Heyn's Bazaar, Field's Cloak and Suit Company, and the Empire Theatre. Handwritten black pen text in the lower right corner of the photo reads "Heyn's Bazaar, C.E. Widger, Sept., 1919." Handwritten pencil text on the verso reads "Empire Theatre, 1251 Woodward, 1910-1923." An oval-shaped blue ink stamp has text that reads "Jeffrey White Studio, Inc., Commercial Photography, 410 Marquette Bldg., Detroit, Mich."
