Print, Photographic
One sepia-toned photograph of a building floor/foundation under construction. The view looks downward and shows old stone and concrete foundations which have been cut away in the lower foreground and also beneath an existing building in the background. Workmen are placing reinforcing steel bars in a grid arrangement for what appears to be a new basement floor. The building wall in the background is supported with steel columns and with wood beams that are being used for bracing along the side. Existing windows on the side of the building have been covered with wood planks. The date, "1-27-22," is shown in small white text near the lower right corner of the photo. A black ink stamp on the verso has text that reads "From American Contractor." Handwritten pencil text reads "Return to Mr. Widger, 3371 Scabel Place, Detroit."
