Mounted sepia-toned photograph of the exterior of a two-story brick building situated on the northwest corner of Elmwood and Champlain Streets in Detroit. A storefront can be seen on the long face of the building at the left and a saloon, with a corner entrance, is located on the short face of the building at the right. The saloon was owned and operated by Cornelius J. Murphy. Several wine bottles, a sign for Murphy's Choice, and a potted plant are visible in the saloon window. The shade is drawn in the windows of the storefront on the left, and a picture of a man's face is posted on the outside of its windowsill. A canted window is above the corner entrance of the building. Each double hung window along the building's first floor is surrounded by two stained glass windows with geometric designs. The photo is mounted on an olive cardboard backing printed with the photographer's information, "Manning Brothers, 22-24 Witherell St., Detroit."
