Print, Photographic

Black and white photographic print mounted on fabric depicting two women operating pug mill equipment at the Champion Spark Plug Co.
Caption on verso reads, "On the left is closely shown the vacuum pug attachment. On the right is a picture of the Bliss press in operating position with the guard down. The operator on the left takes blanks from the coating position and places them in the brass cups. The operator on the right removes the finished balls and places them in saggers. Almost in the dead center just above the operator's head is a platform of filter press cakes, which is shown more closely in photograph #162771. The production from this operation was finally established at 12,500 a day exclusive of scrap. The operators had no trouble meeting this figure, in fact, girls who have never worked on the operation made production the first day."
