Caption on verso reads: Dressler Kiln after shut-down in August 1927, after 21 months' continuous oil firing.
A carborundum chamber broken away for a cross-sectional view. West side, section #4, which is two sections north of flame shield. Shows only an exceedingly small amount of oxidation of the carborundum and only on the bottom of the top section. See also Photographs #85627 and #85628.
