Black and white photographic print depicting kilns and stacked kiln cars at the Champion Spark Plug Co.
Caption reads: Bisque Firing. Unfired insulators are carefully placed in ceramic trays. These saggers of insulators are carried by kiln cars through a continuous tunnel kiln where they are fired at more than 2700 F. The exactly controlled firing results in a superior and dependable insulator…one that is very strong, dense and absolutely impervious to moisture.
